Key proposals
-
43 new high-quality homes in a modest and spacious development.

-
Housing mix would include one to four-bedroom homes comprising terraced, semi-detached and detached properties and a small number of maisonettes. All will have generous private gardens. The proposed homes will be two storeys in height, with one 2.5 storey property.

-
Homes are to be built as bespoke designs with a modern approach to energy conservation and of a contemporary architecture that respects their character setting.

-
Homes have been carefully positioned to avoid overlooking of existing properties.

-
Extensive landscaping and public open space, particularly to the north and a ‘green spine’ through the centre of the site.

-
A substantial landscape buffer at the western and north-western boundary of the site.
-
Proposed pedestrian and cycle routes through the site, for use by the whole community, linking Watlington Road to the Marigolds Recreation Ground.

-
The site’s existing wildlife and habitats will be protected through a range of measures including retaining and enhancing its wide hedgerows and retaining all but low-quality trees.

-
The vehicular, cycle and pedestrian access will remain in the current location but will be upgraded. The improvement works will avoid causing harm to existing trees along the access road.

-
All units are accessible with a proportion adaptable for wheelchair users.

-
On-site parking includes 72 allocated parking spaces and 11 visitor parking spaces.

-
A low density build: 17.2dph (dwellings per hectare). This will ensure the protection of trees, ecological enhancement and improved green infrastructure that is publicly accessible.
The development will deliver 43 new homes in a sustainable location and will enable the development of a new two-form entry primary school.
